       9 semesters hours of Social Science, including at least one course dealing with the U.S. Constitution (History 112, 175, 176 or Political Science 90)

III. Bachelor of Arts with a Pre-Medicine Emphasis

The requirements for the Bachelor of Arts with a Pre-Medicine Emphasis are the same as for the Bachelor of Arts as described above with the following additional requirements:

       2 Semesters of Organic Chemistry Laboratory (Chem 226 and 228)

       2 semesters of Physics with Laboratory (21 or 31, 22, 25 or 35, 26)

(NB: All students earning a B.S. in Biological Sciences will have completed the standard requirements for application to medical school.) 

 

 

IV. Bachelor of Arts-Biological Sciences Teacher Certificate Requirements

 A. General Courses

       21 semester hours in Humanities, including English 20 and English 60

       15 semester hours of Social Science, including at least one course dealing with U.S. Constitution (History 112, 175, 176 or Political Science 90)

V. Biological Sciences Minor

A minor in Biological Sciences requires a minimum of 20 hours of Biological Sciences coursework, which normally includes Bio 110, 112, 211, and 212 and at least 7 hours of 300 level Biology coursework to be selected in consultation with a departmental advisor. Minors should declare their intentions prior to the start of their junior year. 

 

VI. Bioinformatics Minor

Students majoring in Biological Sciences are eligible to pursue a minor in bioinformatics. Contact the Biological Sciences department for more information
